Thomas Taylor is originally from Oceanside, California but moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona when he was 5. Growing up Thomas played a lot of sports but eventually turned his focus to baseball which he continued playing through his college years. Thomas attended college at Central Arizona College for two years and then transferred to Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas to finish his baseball career and degree. Thomas graduated from Benedictine College in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education. Immediately after graduation he began working for Beginner’s Edge Sports Training where he was coaching children from 18 months-8 years old in soccer, baseball, basketball, football, and golf. Thomas also spent his summer months coaching in the Arizona Wood Bat League for collegiate level players.
After 4+ years of working for B.E.S.T and the AZWBL Thomas was offered a position at Chandler Preparatory Academy as an assistant baseball coach for the varsity team, later becoming the head coach. That position led him to the opportunity to become a physical education teacher at another Great Hearts Academy, Teleos Preparatory Academy. Throughout his time at Teleos Thomas served in a variety of different roles including physical education, fourth grade lead teacher, and dean of students. During the 2018-2019 school year Thomas accepted a position as a fourth grade lead teacher at Archway North Phoenix and is looking forward to his first year serving as assistant headmaster in 2019-2020.
In 2014 Thomas married his high school sweetheart, Andria. They are now living in Gilbert with their two daughters, Paige (4) and Natalie (1). They enjoy going to baseball games, hiking, swimming, and riding bikes around the neighborhood.
